On Austria’s motorways there are compulsory vignettes since 1997. All cars, motorcycles and mobile homes up to 3.5 t GVW (gross vehicle weight) already need a toll sticker when they join the motorway. This saves you from having to pay a possible replacement fee of at least 120 euros.
