Nordic Walking & Smart Walking
Unique walking experience in the Nockberge National Park.
A new trend in hiking that is gaining more and more fans. Loosely
described, this sport is all about climbing the mountains wearing a chest strap
and pulse monitor, with or without poles – with the goal – optimally – of
keeping your heart beat within its healthy range.
There are now three Nordic Walking
routes (ranging in elevation from 1,750 to 2,200 metres above sea level) which
depart from the summit station of the Brunnach National Park Lift in the
Nockberge National Park. Simply check in at the checkpoint and, equipped with
your walking poles and pulse monitor, enjoy the ultimate alpine fitness
experience!
Incidentally:
The 2000 AMAS study confirmed that spending time in
the mountains, at moderate elevations ranging from 1,000 to 2,500 metres above sea
level, has considerable positive effects on the body. The benefits of
the climate can be further enhanced through physical activity.
